Curriculum and Instruction

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is one of three academic departments located in the Richard W. Riley College of Education.  At the undergraduate level, all programs in the department are approved by the South Carolina State Board of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  

The undergraduate certification programs include early childhood education, elementary education, and special education.  The department also offers one non-licensure degree program, family and consumer sciences. 

At the graduate level, the department offers Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees in the following: Curriculum and Instruction (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education), Middle Level Education, Reading, Special Education, and Counseling.
