The department
of health and physical education would like to announce its 2009
summer camp. Camp will run for four weeks including July 13-17th,
July 20-24th, July 27-30th, and August 3-7th.
Camp consists of morning sessions that begin at 9 a.m. and last till
noon, and afternoon sessions that begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.
Each session will cost $60 per student for
Winthrop
faculty, staff, and Macfeat students and $70 for others. Extended
hours are offered for an additional charge of $15 per week which
include; before camp 7 a.m. - 9 a.m., during lunch 12 p.m.-1 p.m.,
and after the afternoon session 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Summer camp will
include two age groups; the little big stuff camps for 5-7 year olds
and the big stuff camps for 8-12 year olds. Each session has a
different theme/topic that will be explored throughout the week
including activities, crafts, and field trips. Swim lessons will be
provided during the morning sessions and afternoon sessions will
have an hour of free swim time in the
West Center pool.
For more information about
the themes and details of the camps please pick up a camp brochure
after Spring Break from the physical education office (216 office
suite). Registration begins May 1st and will be accepted
until July 1st, but availability is first come first
serve. We will not be advertising this camp off campus so please
share this information with anyone you think would be interested in
attending camp. All camp personnel will be undergraduate or graduate
students from the department of physical education and kept small so
campers can be provided with a meaningful and educational summer
