PDS Mini-Grants
Each of the Professional Development
Schools had the opportunity to write a grant proposal to Winthrop
University to receive additional funds for their school's
initiatives. The mini-grants were funded through a component of the
Title II Teacher Quality Grant.
The purpose of the mini-grants was to stimulate involvement of
Winthrop University faculty from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences,
Business, and Visual and Performing Arts within the professional
development schools. The funds could be used to by materials,
support travel and conference attendance, and hire consultants. The
amounts of each mini-grant ranged from $500 to $3,000. Schools could
not apply for more than two mini-grants.
Five out of the six professional development schools applied for the
mini-grants. Three schools received two mini-grants.:
Brooklyn Springs Elementary
Cotton Belt Elementary
Crowders Creek Complex
