To help future teachers learn how to use technology, Winthrop University offers Education 150: Teachers and Technology. This class is divided into three sections - Telecommunications, Productivity and Multimedia. The primary programs taught are Telnet, Netscape, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office '97 with emphasis on Word and PowerPoint, and HyperStudio. Students gain computer experience on both Macintosh and PC's. The theme of the course for the Fall 1997 semester is "Understanding Cultures in a Global Society."
