Assistive Technology
Resources
Assistive Technology has increasing importance in today’s
schools and the ITC is addressing this issue with the Learning
Disabilities, Assistive Technology and Independence in the General
Education Setting Project. The primary goal of this project is to
increase teacher awareness of the ways in which technology can be
utilized in the general education setting to facilitate student
learning, increase student independence and more fully include
students with learning disabilities. The goals and objectives of
this project include development of an Assistive Technology
demonstration lab, classroom presentations focusing on facilitation
and utilization of AT, and integration of AT into the pre-service and
in-service teacher education program.
