Summary of Lesson:   Students will write a myth about a constellation that is seen from the night sky in South Carolina.  Students will then draw a picture of their constellation to attach to their myth.  This lesson will take 2-3 class periods.
Lesson Details
Objectives:  The student will gather information about constellations and the myths behind them.   The student will be able to use the information gathered, their study of myths in English and the history of the SC native Americans to write a myth form the Native American point of view to write a myth about a constellation in the night sky. 
 
Setting: Computer lab with multiple computers would be beneficial, but it could be done in a one-computer classroom with the use of the infocus.
Procedures:  Students should complete the attached note taking page while they go through the web-quest found at: http://coe.winthrop.edu/tlc/camp/default.htm    
Then students will create their myths and draw their pictures. 
Technology Specific Activity: When this has been completed students will scan their pictures and type their stories into a web page created by a group with similar myths or similar constellations.
Assessment: 

Completion of the web quest, myth, picture, and web page.
