Introduction to Digital Audio and Introduction to Each Other

Digital audio works much like a tape recorder. You have a record button, a pause button, a stop button, and fast forward and rewind as well. But because you are recording in a digital format, you can also edit the audio by adding music and sound effects, or by deleting parts you don't want. Podcasts are, basically, digital audio files posted to the Internet for you to listen to online or to download to listen to later. I create our class RoLO's this way.

For your first class activity, I want you to create a digital audio file. Find a partner and interview each other. Each of you will interview each other on your own computer. Your interviews must cover these areas (even though you could talk about other things):

  1. Your name and the name of the person you are interviewing.
  2. Biographical information (such as hometown, what their major is, what their favorite color is, etc.) about the person you are interviewing.
  3. What would their dream classroom look like?
    * Will it have desks in rows or tables in circle?
    * What kind of decorations would they use? Pictures of authors? Bright colors? Lots of windows?
  4. What kind of teacher do they think they will be?
    * Funny?
    * Friendly?
    * Strict?
    * Understanding?
    * Rigorous?
  5. One question that you make up to ask them.

Your interview of the person must be at least one minute long (60 seconds), but no longer than one and a half minutes (90 seconds). It must use a short (no longer than 10 seconds) musical introduction.

Save your interview as an .mp3 file to your Z drive with your first and last name. For example: marshall_jones.mp3

I will show you how to turn this in.
