Expressions Web Assignment

Many school districts, schools and individual teachers have websites.  These websites can be used to communicate with the community, parents and students.  Often lunch menus, PTO meeting dates, homework and examples of student work are posted.  In addition, students can create websites on particular subjects or post their own work for others to see.

In EDUC275, you will create a website. This website is intended to teach you the basic skills you need to create and manage a website in the classroom. While you will learn how to do some things, the only way you will ever be good at this is to continue to work on it after the class is over. On every page you should have a small menu to link you to every other page. Your pages should have pictures, both background and others, and should be formatted to make them look as good as you can make them. All of the pages you create for this class must be free of offensive material and promote positive messages. Here are the pages and the names of the pages that your site must consist of:

default.htm
This is the main page of your website. You will link to everything off of this page.  NEVER change the name of your default page!  On this page you should have

275aboutme.htm
Introduces yourself to students and parents.  You are the teacher on this page - a professional educator.

275links.htm
This page will have five external links. They should relate to a what you plan to teach. These five links should be annotated, meaning that you provide a short description of it. They may be sites that would be appropriate for students or teachers. These are sites that you are personally recommending, so think about what you are doing. Provide the name of the website, the URL and a brief description of what is on the site. ONE OF YOUR SITES SHOULD BE....SC Curriculum Standards for your grade level (consider the link to the "parent friendly" site from your reading guide).

275curriculumconnection.htm
This is a sample student page.  Consider how having students design a webpage could remove certain barriers to learning specific curriculum standards.  On this page you should have

275references.htm
Copy and paste and all sources used in the design of your website (backgrounds, graphics, models, etc.) except from the curriculum connection page (references are included on that page).
