Setting your Background

1. You may have a picture as a background or you may have a solid color background. To do either go to the Format menu and slide down to "Background."

2. You will get the following dialog box:

2. To make your background a solid color, click on the down arrow beside the word Background and a list of colors will pop up. Choose the one you want and click ok.

To make your background a picture, click on "Background Image" and then Browse.

The following dialog box will appear:

a)To insert a background image from the clipart provided by Microsoft click on "ClipArt."   The following box will appear: clipart.bmp (682314 bytes)

There are multiple categories in the clipart privided. The backgrounds specific to web pages are called "Web Backgrounds" and are at the very bottom of the list.  Click on the background you want and click OK.

b)To insert a background you have on disk click on  fromfile.bmp (1206 bytes) and locate your disk and image.

When you add an image to your web page, including a background image, when you Save or Quit, FrontPage will ask you if you want to save each embedded image in your folder. You do. If you do not save each image, they will no longer appear on your web pages.
