TLC101: Professional Development for Faculty

Sample Projects
College of Education, Arts and Sciences and Visual and Performing Arts faculty participate in TLC101.  Project examples include:

  • developing criteria/ examples for student digital exit portfolios  
  • previewing health and physical  education software in order to recommend titles for installation in a Human Performance Lab 
  • previewing and then demonstrating language arts software to students enrolled in READ571: Diagnostic, Prescriptive Teaching of Reading 
  • integrating technology into Educational Psychology (EDUC250) to promote problem solving and critical thinking skills and to model effective technology use 
  • creating web sites to enhance coursework 
  • the integration of principles of design into EDUC150:Teachers and Technology to improve the quality of student produced PowerPoint presentations and websites 
  • previewing software and web sites related to English Language Arts 
  • Graduate Assistant from HPED worked with a HPED professor to learn assessment software installed on a Palm Pilot. This software is used to evaluate students participating is PE activities.
  • the integration of technology into PHED670:Advanced Strategies in Teaching Elementary Physical Education 
  • Building k-12 software evaluation and website evaluation into the Early Childhood Program
