Curriculum Task Force

The Curriculum Task Force consists of eleven members who serve as leaders in the TLC Project.  Cross-discipline teacher education faculty include members from: Art Department – Visual and Performing Arts , Math Department – Arts and Sciences , Center for Pedagogy – Education , Curriculum and Instruction – Education , Health and Physical Education, the Technology Specialist of the TLC Project, and the Director of the Instructional Technology Center.

The task force acts as a steering committee for the grant and is responsible for motivating and guiding other faculty in the represented departments by piloting activities integrating technology into his/her respective discipline. The task force is also working on a scope and sequence of technology competencies students must have before graduating from the teacher education program.

"The Matrix"

Five faculty members from the Technology Integration Task Force attended the Sunray Academy in January 2000. During the Academy participants completed a first draft of a technology competency scope and sequence to guide the revision of course syllabi within the teacher education program. This scope and sequence included goals and objectives to meet the ISTE standards in our undergraduate and MAT (pre-service graduate program) course work. Following our return from the Academy, we presented the scope and sequence to the remainder of the Technology Integration Task Force, the Dean’s Council, departments within the College of Education and grant participants (TLC 101 & Technology Integration into Teacher Education Task Force, Summer Technology Camp),  for their input. We will integrate parts of the Matrix into the Winthrop University Teacher Education Conceptual Framework as it is reviewed and revised during 2001-02.
