This unit lasts
several days. During this time, students will study the circulatory
system, conduct research using both conventional and Internet sites, and
– working with two or three peers - create a PowerPoint
presentation with at least 6 slides. |

- The student will be able to identify the
parts of the circulatory system and explain the function of each.
- The student will be able create a PowerPoint
presentation.

Computer Lab and Multiple Computer Classroom |

| Procedures: |
- Introduction of project and unit.
- Classroom instruction on the circulatory system. (Use textbook as guide
or foundation.)
- Conduct research on the circulatory system using both conventional materials
and Internet sites. May be done in classroom.
- Model for students the use of Microsoft PowerPoint. (Use ProView
or similar technology) Provide a tutorial for students to practice skills.
Classroom or lab.
- Students work in small groups and produce a PowerPoint presentation
based on their research. Lab or classroom.
- Students will share their presentation with classmates.

- The student will review information at specific web sites as assigned
by the teacher.
- The student will learn how to produce a PowerPoint presentation;
and will demonstrate this skill by creating a presentation on the circulatory
system.
