About the Project
Vision
The
educational leader in K-16 schools uses instructional technology
innovatively and creatively as a tool for effective instruction
to facilitate and improve student learning.
The educational leader understands that technology is
used best when incorporated into activities that are designed to
promote higher order thinking skills, promote information
literacy, enhance communication skills and meet the needs of
diverse learners. The educational leader understands that
technology lends itself to and supports
project-based
and hands-on learning and links classrooms to information and to
people otherwise unavailable.
In
order to make this vision a reality, the goals of the TLC
project are to:
Goal
1:
Infuse
technology in teaching/learning experiences, so that
University Faculty
-
routinely
use & model technology during instruction,

promote
teacher education students’ use of technology,
and
-
demonstrate
best practices for technology use in
K-12 curricula.
Goal
2:
Establish
partnerships, that
-
provide
University Faculty opportunities to observe, learn
from, and collaborate with in-service educators
who use technology for instruction, and
-
provide
Teacher education students with hands-on teaching
with technology opportunities.
Goal
3:
Develop
new modes of communication & investigation, that
-
facilitate
communication and collaboration between university
faculty, K-12 educators and teacher education
students, and
-
facilitate
communication between members of the South
Carolina Network for Educational Renewal (SCNER)
the state affiliate of the National Network for
Educational Renewal, regarding integrating
technology into pre-service teacher education.
