Curriculum Development

The Zest Quest curriculum is being revised to meet the needs of South Carolina's students and to fit with State education standards.  In the summers of 2007 and 2008, Dr. Chepko organized two meetings with health curriculum experts to develop the overall outcomes and grade-level indicators as well as the scope and sequence.  These documents are available below:

Draft of Zest Quest Outcomes and Indicators August 2007

Draft of Scope and Sequence August 2007

Draft of Zest Quest Outcomes and Indicators August 2008

Draft of Scope and Sequence August 2008

The Zest Quest weekly lesson plans for K-5 were revised by the curriculum group in Summer 2008 and will be implemented for the 2008-2009 academic year.

In addition, Ms. Marr and Ms. Sherri Lowder, the Curriculum Specialist from Lesslie Elementary, met with the classroom teachers in Summer 2007 to have them develop integrated lessons where Zest Quest content could be taught along with math, science, global, language arts, and history.  The teachers' creativity in the lesson plans is amazing!
